PRIVACY POLICY
How we handle personal data — written for GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA, and India's DPDP Act
Last updated: January 2026
The Digital IP & Brand Protection Alliance ("we", "our", "the Alliance") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
Digital IP & Brand Protection Alliance — a national, not-for-profit society registered in India. Registered office: Prop. No. 55, Third Floor, Westlane, Saidulajaib, New Delhi – 110030, India. For any privacy-related question, contact secretary@digitalipbrandprotectionalliance.com.
2. Data we collect
This website is intentionally form-free. We do not
host contact forms or any other input that captures personal data on
our servers. All enquiries are sent via your own email client over
mailto: links.
When you visit the site, the following data may be processed:
- Strictly necessary cookies / local storage — to remember your cookie consent choices and preserve basic site functionality. No personal identifiers.
- Server access logs — Cloudflare Pages may keep short-term access logs (IP, user-agent, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention, in line with Cloudflare's published retention policies.
- Optional analytics / preferences / marketing cookies — only used if you have explicitly opted in via the cookie banner.
When you email us, we receive whatever you choose to share in that email (name, organization, phone number, the body of your message).
3. Lawful basis
Under the EU GDPR, our processing relies on:
- Consent — for any non-essential cookies.
- Legitimate interests — for security logging and to respond to enquiries you initiate.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain records to comply with Indian law.
4. How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiries and process membership applications.
- To run and secure the website.
- To produce aggregated, anonymous statistics (only if you accept analytics cookies).
We do not sell your personal data, do not share it with advertisers, and do not use automated decision-making.
5. International transfers
The site is delivered through Cloudflare's global edge network. Where data leaves the EU/UK/India, it is protected by Cloudflare's Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards. By emailing us, you understand that your message will reach our team in India.
6. Retention
Cookie-consent choices are kept on your device until you clear them or until our policy version changes. Email correspondence is retained only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and meet legal obligations.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate data;
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to processing;
- Data portability;
- Withdraw consent at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority — for India, the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act 2023; for the EU, your national supervisory authority; for the UK, the ICO; for California, the Office of the Attorney General.
To exercise any of these rights email secretary@digitalipbrandprotectionalliance.com.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS with strong transport security headers. We do not store form submissions, payment details, or sensitive personal data on our servers.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. If a change materially affects your rights, we will re-prompt you for cookie consent.
